Bonefish, Permit and Tarpon, along with many other sport fish, abound within minutes of the Monkey River Retreat and Seal Caye Retreat. Other fishermen might spend up to two hours each way, coming from lodges north and south to get to these pristine locations. The river, the flats, and the reef are right at your doorstep from our two great locations. At Monkey River you can fish the river and the cays for Tarpon before breakfast and you can be on the Permit flats in 25 minutes and the southern Tarpon holes in 30 minutes.

At the reef lodge on Seal Caye, you are minutes from the Bonefish flats and more opportunities for Permit, barracuda, and the possibility of tuna, mackerel, and other reef and blue water species.

Our two locations offer a variety of fishing that may be unique in Central America. This might be one of the best places to go for a Grand Slam. At Monkey River you can target Permit, Tarpon, and Snook, and at the reef lodge on Seal Cay, you have the opportunity to fish for Bonefish, Permit, Barracuda, and a variety of reef fish.
