It is easy to book a trip to Monkey River Retreat and Seal Caye Retreat.
Just pick a date or weeks that you are interested in, contact us, and we will make all the arrangements.
There is no difference in the rates if you use one or both lodges. Your interest, the weather and tides will dictate which lodge you will use during what part of your trip. You can phone the lodge directly, but it is easier and cheaper to communicate through email. We can make the air reservations from Belize City to Placencia for you and add the cost to your package rate.
Bookings
Let us know what dates you are interested in, the number of people in your party, the type of fishing you are targeting, and any questions you have. We will confirm availability and book the trip. You can make your deposit by credit card or you can mail your check to us after you have a reservation. Complete prepayment can be made by check or credit card 60 days prior to arrival. If you are booking within 60 days of arrival, the balance of the package can be paid at the lodge by cash, credit card, or personal check. (See details below.)
Birding, Eco-Tours, Snorkeling Reservations
Please contact us and we will quote a package price. The basic accommodation/food rates will be about half the fishing package rates, but each booking should be priced to account for the tours and activities that you are interested in. You can also book a trip and make the final decisions on the tours and activities after you arrive.

Taxes and Gratuities
Belize has 7% Hotel and Accommodation Tax and 8% Sales Tax on tours and meals. This will be added appropriately to your final bill. We will also add a 5% service charge to the total charge for Package rate and incidentals for the lodge service staff. Gratuities to the guides are up to the individual guest. The tips are an important part of their income.
We recommend that you bring your own fishing and snorkeling equipment. The guides will have some available for backup and trolling, but guests will be more comfortable with their own.
Reservations and Deposits
Due to the size of our remote lodges, we strongly recommend that you book packages in advance (90 to 120 days). A deposit of 50% of the package price per person within 14 days of the request is required to secure a reservation.
Full pre-payment is due 60 days prior to arrival. Reservations made within 60 days of the trip date need to pay a 50% deposit within 14 days after the reservation request. The balance of the package cost may be paid in Belize.
Cancellations
60 days prior to arrival- 100% of deposit may be transferred to another date or angler
59-30 days prior to arrival- 50% of deposit may be transferred to another date or angler
29 days or less prior to arrival- no refund
No refunds for unused portions of packages
